Sleeping Forest

All our land was enriched with my treasures buried in it, thickly inhabited just below the surface with my marbles and my teeth and my colored stones, all perhaps turned to jewels by now, held together under the ground in a powerful taut web which never loosened, but held fast to guard us.
- Shirley Jackson (We Have Always Lived in the Castle)

  2. beautiful! I like how it can look like they are laying in the forest or that the forest is growing on their backs!

I weirdly love creatures with cities and forests on their backs :)

  8. this combination of old yellow paper and beautiful pictures of animals reminds me of book, that I've read when I was a little girl :) It was named "Stories about animals" (not very original, huh) by Ernest Thompson Seton. One of Books of my childhood. :)
